Membership requirements

Joining is free. There are two steps: create a personal account, then create your country. Your country starts as an applicant; the secretariat reviews applicants regularly.

To be admitted as an IMA member, a country should

  • Be a genuine micronational project with at least one active participant.
  • Have a name, a flag and a short description on its page.
  • Not impersonate an existing state, organization or another micronation.
  • Agree to the charter and moderation rules.
  • Not share personal contact details, addresses or other sensitive information on public pages.

Observer status

Countries that do not yet meet all requirements may be admitted as observers: they appear in the directory and may conduct diplomacy but do not vote.
